Ice Cream Sundae Pastels: Catwalk Trend

mulberryPastels are yet again, another huge trend this season, with frothy creamy shades all storming along the catwalk. Noticeably, sorbet yellow was the favourite shade of many designers, including Calvin Klein and Erdem, while Mulberry combined floaty baby blue fabrics with lashings of peppermint.

Pastels can easily update a spring or summer outfit, and absolutely anyone can get in on the trend as there is a colour to suit every skin tone. Lemon yellow will look great on olive skin tones, while spearmint green will look great on paler complexions.

The high street has been hot on the mark and incorporated pastels into their new spring drops, including Forever 21 and Zara all paying homage to the pretty trend. Forever 21 have a beautiful assortment of shirts and blouses, all in an array of sherbet colours with prices starting from as little as £10.00!

But don’t worry if you think a pastel outfit is too girly, you can toughen up the look. For example, by teaming a candyfloss pink shirt with a statement neon necklace, or add a pair of your favourite high-top trainers to your new pair of pastel skinnies. This trend is so versatile and will undoubtedly go with something in our wardrobes, plus it will brighten up our day even if the sun’s not shining.
